Program of Sessions:
Introducing our keynote speaker, Robin Kimbrough Hayes! Don’t miss our Opening Plenary with her special presentation on the intersection of domestic violence and faith:
Robin Kimbrough Hayes grew up in a trailer park in Lexington, Kentucky before continuing on to serve as a leader in addressing issues of poverty, criminal justice reform, and women’s issues. Robin received her undergraduate degree from Fisk University, her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Emory School of Law, and her Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University. She is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and a member of the Nashville Branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), NOAH (Nashville Organized for Change and Hope), Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated, the Nashville Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship. She has served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee and Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Children’s Services. For more than a decade, Robin has dedicated her career to advocating for domestic and sexual violence victims as Legal Counsel for the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. Integrating her faith and legal background, she split her time with the chaplaincy representing indigent clients and volunteering for the Legal Aid Society following her US Senate primary race. Robin continues to advocate and fight fearlessly for poor and underserved communities, while raising awareness on the barriers these communities face, including access to healthcare, systemic racism, mental health, and housing.
